Risk Advisory (RA) is an acknowledged leader in risk management, providing strategic analysis, transactional due diligence, employee screening, security consultancy and operational support to a wide range of private and public sector organisations.
The Business Requirement
RA's Employee Screening service wanted to introduce an enhanced service to clients providing online self-service facilities including allowing clients to view cases as they progressed through the screening process. The new system needed to support a complex case work flow and to provide simplification and automation of the back-office processes.
The Sigmer Solution
Working closely with RA staff, Sigmer developed a case management system that provided case-workers with an efficient work flow to manage the cases throughout the case life cycle. Task-automation was provided, supported by facilities that allow the creation of reminders, to-dos and diary events.
A key aim of the design was to minimise the amount of data entry by case-workers and this was achieved, resulting in significant improvements in efficiency and quality.
Operational quality was also enhanced by the provision of a standard letter and e-mail system for the management of template communications.
Clients are given access to data via a secure website and are able to request work, view the progress of their cases and view the final screening reports online. Clients can also request to be kept informed of the progress of individual cases using email. Screening candidates enter their details via a dedicated website, or information can be imported from the client's own HR systems.
The Result
Sigmer's extensive experience in the development of database applications, allied to a robust development methodology, resulted in the delivery of a case management system that meets all RA's requirements. Improved work flow and standardised business processes have reduced the dependency on individual case-workers and workload management has been significantly simplified.
The new system provides visibility of the back-office processes allowing improved oversight at the operational level and the production of a range of metrics feed directly into organisational key performance indicators.
