Website Accessibility

Accessible web design is at the forefront of all web development

Sigmer aspires to a future where the Internet fulfils it's original purpose; of providing equal opportunity of access to information and services regardless of ability. We are firm believers in accessible website design and we support the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

At Sigmer we integrate accessibility into every website design and we have proven expertise in accessible website design and consultancy services. Learn about the legal and business case for web accessibility.

Accessible design

Sigmer internal design standards mandate accessible website design and all of our websites, and those of our clients, must comply with a minimum of Conformance Level “A” defined by the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This means that our clients automatically benefit from our expertise when working with us on a new website design or web application, and are certain to receive a website that has enhanced usability, supports their business needs and complies with internationally recognised standards for web accessibility.

Accessible design examples

Many of our clients, such as

place website accessibility very high on their list of priorities. They require highly accessible websites, while demanding a visual identity that is stylish, pleasing and efficient. Sigmer is able to deliver solutions that meet all of these needs - providing designs that are both pleasing to the eye and conforming with the highest level of accessibility, Priority Level 3.

Website accessibility services

For existing websites, the first stage to delivering accessibility is to evaluate the site for conformance. Does it comply with the basic Conformance Level “A” as defined by the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative, and the minimum legal requirement in many countries supportive of disability rights? In order to answer this question and gather the information needed to develop an accessible web strategy, Sigmer can conduct an accessibility audit of your website and we have a consultancy service to help you plan your future website strategy.
