The diagram shows the operation of the on-line survey tool and the flow of response data into a survey data repository.
Survey Management
Data from surveys is exported from the Survey Tool Database and is imported into a Survey Data Repository which allows data from many surveys to be consolidated. Data in the repository can be augmented with additional meta data etc.
Data Management and Reporting
-
Online report access for authorised subscribers
-
Reports automatically disseminated to recipients
-
The reporting engine, such as Crystal Reports, allows the development of routine reports which are automatically made available to subscribers via a number of channels
-
Complex reports, including specialist branded reports for clients, can be automatically generated
The diagram is in two parts:
The first part shows the function of the Sigmer on-line Survey Tool, with input being received from the recipient list and the reject list. Links are shown to the Question Library. The survey is shown as an output, as is the survey report.
The second part of the diagram shows the survey data repository. The link between the first and second parts of the diagram is the export of survey data (response data) from the survey tool and its import into the survey data repository. The second part also shows the output of survey report information to an off the shelf reporting engine such as Crystal Reports. Reports are generated from the survey data repository and are output by the reporting engine in a number of formats via a web portal. The second part also shows the generation of ad-hoc reports and of data extracts for input to advanced reporting applications such as SPSS.
